Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not ready for care yet. Can I still call for advice and support?

Absolutely! Care is complicated and everybody’s needs are unique to them. We would be delighted to answer any questions you may have about how care works, how it can be funded and how it can benefit you, or your loved ones, and keep you safe at home rather than in a care home. Just give us a call on 01903 495456 and we would be happy to help.

How can I pay for my care?

You may qualify for the Local Authority to pay for your care directly. Alternatively, you can take the budget allocated to you in the form of a direct payment. This gives you full control over who provides your care. Click here to find out how West Sussex County Council can support you. Many people also choose to pay for their care privately.

I’m not sure I’m ready for care can I see how it goes and change my mind?

You can indeed. For the first 14 days you can stop care without notice and just pay for the care you have received. After 14 days we only ever require 14 days’ notice to end care.

Will I always have the same Care Giver?

Depending on how many visits you would like we will keep the number of Care Givers to a minimum. Our team will have days off in the week, will take holidays and need time off for other reasons. We cannot have just one Care Giver, but we will keep the team as small as we can.

How will you decide who comes to support me? What if I do not like my Care Giver?

One of the reasons we visit for a free, no obligation, care consultation is so that we can get to know you as a person, understand your interests and start to understand your values. If  there are Care Givers that you do not want to visit (for example we would not send Care Givers with pets to someone with a pet allergy) then we will make sure they do not visit. If you do not get along with a Care Giver then let us know and we will change them.

How are your Care Givers recruited and trained?

This is our most frequently asked question. Everyone who works for us undergoes an in-depth recruitment process. All of our employees a required to complete an application form detailing their entire work and education history and explain any gaps in their employment. They must pass two interviews. If successful then their employment they must provide 2 satisfactory references, they must complete a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and must have the right to work in the UK. Before visiting clients, they will undergo a three-day induction programme. Our new recruits will then go to work in clients’ homes supervised until they and their supervisor are happy for them to work alone. We do not rush them if they need a little more time. We pay our Care Givers directly.
