Meet the Aurora Community Care Team
Good home care starts with people you can trust.
Meet the local team supporting our clients, families and Care Givers every day, from the people organising your care to those visiting you at home.
The people behind the care
Local people.
A shared standard of care.
Aurora is based in Worthing. Our clients and families are supported by a local team they can get to know, rather than an anonymous national head office.
The people organising, overseeing and providing your care work as part of the same local team, with the time to listen and respond when something changes.

01
Registered Manager
Jodi Johnson
Jodi has spent more than 20 years working in care. She started out as a Care Assistant before moving into care management, so she knows the job from both sides. That experience still influences the way she runs Aurora today. For Jodi, the standard is simple: provide the kind of care she would want for the people she loves.
Away from Aurora, Jodi spends time with her family and two children. She enjoys reading and is rarely far from another upcycling, painting or decorating project.

02
Director
Mike Jeffries
Mike previously ran a company providing care at home in Worthing before spending a few years away from the sector. Eventually he realised he missed both care and Worthing, which rather neatly led him back.
With Aurora, Mike wanted to help build a care company that stayed local, personal and easy to talk to. Outside work he enjoys walking and travelling, although Felix and Oscar, his two cats, are generally quite happy when he decides to stay at home.

Recruiter
Paul
Paul has spent more than 26 years recruiting across healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. He has also worked as a Care Giver and as an Assessor/Field Supervisor, so he knows care from rather more than the recruitment side of the desk.
Outside Aurora, Paul enjoys renovating Ercol furniture and can often be found wandering around antique fairs and emporiums looking for pocket watches and snuff boxes.

Ann – Keeper of the Mum Test
We took it rather literally.
Care companies often talk about providing the care they would want for their own parents. Aurora actually involved Mike’s mum.
Ann spent her working life helping people, first as a nurse and later as a Social Worker in West Sussex. Now retired, she still keeps an experienced eye on Aurora and remains active providing social support to older people in the local community.
If the test is whether the care is good enough for your own mum, having your actual mum involved in the business seems a fairly effective way of keeping everyone on their toes.
More about Aurora →The people you’ll see most
Meet our Care Givers.
Care is personal. The people providing it should be too.
Our Care Givers are the people clients are likely to see regularly. They get to know how you like things done, notice the small changes and help make everyday life feel more comfortable, manageable and independent.
Aurora takes matching people seriously. Kindness and reliability matter, but personality matters too. We want clients and Care Givers to be able to build comfortable, trusted professional relationships over time.
And although Care Givers often work one-to-one in people’s homes, they are not working on their own. They remain part of the wider Aurora team, with local support around them.
